In a shipping mess :(

Ok I have some items that require a higher price to be shipped. I have thousands of products so it would be a HUGE hassle to have to put weight on all of them.

Is there anyway to disable the regular shipping method for the ones that have weight on them? So it customer will only be able to check out with the weight shipping price?

Meaning the weight shipping shows up for items that have lbs, and don't for all other products that require the normal shipping rates. I turned it on, and it shows both methods currently.

Yea good point..... so the only solution would be to tag weight on all the items ?

You can customize shipping anyway you like ... but you have to think out all of the ins and outs and then create a shipping module that can automate that method ...

But without the details it is hard to consider what all might need to be done ...

The larger products need to have a few dollars added to them.... I asked if adding the the sticker price would work, but my friend doesn't like that idea for some reason.

Not only that it has to be zone shipping too cause she is in Canada so shipping inside Canada cost alot more for some reason, but international doesn't.

You could add a flag or field to these products that can be checked and if it exists adds either a specific amount or an additional percentage or something ...

You could use a different product type and when that product type is in the cart it adds additional charges ...

There are several methods that can be done ...

First you need to spell it out on paper ... then it can be translated to code ...
