After customer LogIn goes back to main page

Hello everyone. After switching hosts from godaddy.com to hostgator.com i am finally warming up to cpanel and i have successfully re-installed my shop on my new server. (my database did not transfer over to my new host.. so I'm still trying to rebuild it to the way it was after weeks of configuring... ) i'll be ok..


Now the problem that I didnt have before is when I login with my test account it redirects me back to "Welcome Guest! Would you like to LogIn?"

Anybody know what to do? This did not happen before and the only thing that I remember doing was installing the security patches and changing the permissions to configure.php...

OK after posting this thread.. i clicked on my own link in the thread. A new page opened with my shop and I tried it out again and it worked...

the same old page was open in a different browser window and it still wasnt working....

I guess 'problem solved' but how and why did it happen??

I'm having this login issue on a live site. (http : // www.mindmint.com )
Customers are complaining that after creating an accoutn they are not able to login at a later time. Any ideas? I have the same problem off and on. I thought it was the difference between hitting enter at the password field and clicking the login button, but that isn't it.

I've tried clearing cache and cookies, different machines, different browsers, etc. Every so often I get in, otherwise I get redirected to the home page.

I am using the mod_rewrite and several other modules.

Also, I am on a shared host, but have my own SSL certificate. https runs on the same domain name.

Help??

I seem to be able to login ... although I get a warning about your certificate ...
