Custom Keywords not working

Alls my meta keywords and descriptions use is mycategory names nothing else

Did you add any custom meta tags for your Categories and Products?

in my meta_tags.php file i have

// Custom Keywords
//define('CUSTOM_KEYWORDS', 'online gift shopping, gift shopping, affordable online gift shopping, online shopping, affordable gift shopping');

THis is for my main index page im talking about

The defaults are built from your settings in the /includes/languages/english/meta_tags.php

Plus the Categories when there are no custom meta tags ...

You can see how each page is built in the:
/includes/modules/meta_tags.php

Note: commenting out define statements is not how to make them blank ... set the value to '' if you want them blank or you get the constant itself instead ...

How do i get it to use my main page text in the meta descriptions

or is it better to just use the categorys as it does by default
