Mask Credit Card Number?

Hello guys-

I noticed that there is a link to mask the creditcard number on the admin orders page.

Is this a new feature in zc release, or is it from a contrib that i installed?

eather way, im wonder how you UN-Mask the numbers when you need to charge the card again. can this be done?

any info would be great.

Zen Cart does not save the full credit card numbers. If you are using the CC module, half will be mailed to you, the other half in admin.

It would be a bad choice to store the full credit card number on a web server. PCI Standards (Payment Card Industry) are quite strict.

well thats what i thought, and i know that we should save full CC numbers. however i believe that its authorize AIM that stores and saves the cc info for future use.

last month we changed the settings to start storing them for future use with return customers - but my question is, what modual is it that has the link to mask the cc numbers?

I like it- but once you mask it, there is no way to un-mask it. so if the customer has requested that we bill his card again, we have to ask for the info all over again.


if anyone else has come accross this problem, please let me know know how you get the cc numbers showing again.
