I haven't yet played with ZenCart 1.3.5, so I am not sure if this has changed in the newest version....but here is how I would do it in earlier versions:
You can do this either by using the ZenCart Admin editing tool (define pages) - try using it in HTML editor mode if you are new to ZenCart....
Or)
You can open the template page for the main page in an HTML editor program ( Dreamweaver for example) and code in your changes to the design that way. Using an editor of your choice, you can probably add images fairly easily.
If you share a url and a more specific example, we can probably make better suggestions.
