question on front page layout

I have 1.35 & column grid.

I would like to have just the most recent added items on the front page but with no:

"new products for the month"

no price.

I have been searching......all day I have been zenning it and racking my brain.

is there a link to answer this question?

Start with admin config > Maximum Values > New Product Listing - Limited to ... > set to one of the selections

admin > config > new listing > Display Product Price > set to "0" =off

If you want to change the header title for "new products for the month" - search in admin > tools > developers tools > bottom left box > enter "new products for the month" > dropdown > catalog files > search > the files with this text will be listed and you can then open a "copy" edit the text to what you want save and place in your template override folder that you have or might need to create

I did that and it still shows :) That why I am confused. I set to "0" on browse and it shows no price.

If you choose to not have the words "New Products for 'Month' but still want the new products on the front.

Go to includes/languages/YOUR TEMPLATE/english.php

define('TABLE_HEADING_NEW_PRODUCTS', 'New Products For %s');


change to:

define('TABLE_HEADING_NEW_PRODUCTS', '');

The devel tools in the admin are a great feature...and now you know how to find most anything that you might need to tweak your install....remember to first check the admin built in finctions.

Sorry to but in, but....

Is there a way of removing these from the front page completely?

E.g. so that there is no "Featured Products" and no "New Products..." and no "Monthly specials" ?

Yes you can!

Admin -> configuration -> index listing

You'll see listings for

show xxxxx on main page just turn them off (set to 0)
