Sales Codes

The web site I am co-designing is running a contest. The contest has two parts. The first being a photo popularity contest in Coppermine Photo Gallery. The second be the contestant who get the most downloadable sales. I was wondering if there is a way to link the two. Example: The contestant logs in for contest and buys a music download receives a code maybe. then enters their photo in the gallery for voting purposes with the sales code. Any one wishing to vote does so in the Photo program and if they want to add to the contestants sales they enter the code that the contestant got when She entered the contest.

I think I need a place in Zen Cart to generate a sales code of some sort at the time the contestant purchases her original product. It has to be different for each contestant so they can be assigned points for the contest based on sales. Can this be done? I saw nothing in the forum about this. Does any one know? Thanks
