    Default Daily Checklist

I'm seeing that there is a definite level of maintenance to using ZenCart. No longer under the umbrella of protection my previous cart provided (presumably) offered, I know that I need to be proactive in checking certain things out regularly. That's NOT a complaint. I am so much happier with the ease of use and control.
Checking in on the forum yesterday and seeing the patch release for 1.3.5, I realized that I need to making a routine of certain maintenance tasks.
I wonder if some of you more seasoned Zenners could post a checklist of what you do daily, weekly, monthly, to insure smooth operation and attentiveness to problems. Things as apparent as backing up the database to checking logs (and how) for misuse, to monitoring the forum for upgrades, etc. Perhaps if this gets fleshed out enough amongst all the posters, it could become a FAQ.

Any serious site used for commercial purposes must be looked after and cared for, just like a physical storefront business. At a minimum...
    • Check here regularly for updates and secruity fixes
    • Actually install the new releases when they come out
    • Run backups on both the DB and store files as often as possible (I do one every night).
    • Maintain a backup history of at least 30 days, ensuring you can retrieve an old version should you get hacked and not be able to determine the intrusion date.

Yes, all the things you spoke of are true, but I am betting that seasoned Zenners have a particular routine they use to get the day started, much as a storefront business would, but in the cyber sense. Any inside tricks would be appreciated I know by new zenners.

You are talking to a seasoned Zen cart vet, and those are the things I do on a regular basis. I also optimize my tables with overhead when I am in phpMyAdmin, but don't do so on a strict schedule.
