is there a way to create a link that would display my phpbb forum on the main page of my store?

For a link itself, if you enabled the phpbb linkage when setting up the cart, then there will be one in your more information sidebox.
As for actually showing the forum in the cart, no.
Furthermore, custoemrs will have to log into the forums when they visit -- zen does not pass the login information over.
thanks. maybe in future version the integration will be tighter.

That or perhaps some incredibly foolish gal will actually create a forum within zencart using something like "phorum" in combination with the product types and override system, so that the zen cart system handles the session details.
Zen and phpbb, to my non programmer eye, handle session information in two utterly alien to each other methods that basically mean the likelihood of the two ever actually talking is slim and none.
But then, my efforts to increase integration were fruitless, and I'm slightly cynical about it as a result, lol.
I'm having better luck with the phorum, deal, but I'm getting to a point where I need someone who understand sit better than I do to move forward, lol.
not familar with phorum but a quick look at their site/doc would lead you to believe that better integration would be there instead of with phpbb. have u actually gotten the external authentication to work from zen cart?
Actually, I'm ignoring the phorum authentication process and using zen to do it. And that I've gotten to work. Twice.
and broken it a LOT, lol.
(I am not a programmer, and I am playing with things far beyond my ken...).
My goal is to basically make it a sort of module that works entirely within zen itself, and I'm using the product type system in order to set it up.
good luck. please post back when you think you have it solved. would be interesting to integrate possibly with another project that i am working on. gotta get me a php/mysql book one of these days![]()
