When doing a backup is not giving me the option of GZip... only the Pure SQL, is that right? I just reuploaded the files of the module, and keeps on doing the same.

It won't offer the option if it finds that the gzip service cannot be found.

I do have that service. It won't offer the option if it finds that the gzip service cannot be found.
The funny thing is that the backups are created in .sql.gz format.![]()

It gives me a perfect sql file.
So to summarize the whole issue.
I have GZ service. When I want to create a backup only gives me the pure sql option BUT backups on gz format. So that means I can't backup on pure sql anyhow.
Another buggy??? This could be my 3rd one discovered...

I've had this problem with the module all along. The first cart I installed was in June, 1.3.01 I think. Same problem with 1.3.02 and 1.3.5 for me.Originally Posted by ideasgirl

That sounds like a "feature" of your hosting service.![]()
Next time I get around to looking at that module for updates, I'll keep this issue in mind to see if there's anything that needs tweaking.
Again, most of the issues are server-specific, making it very hard to anticipate every possible scenario.

Hello,
I just installed MySql Backup Module and have exactly the same issue.
I see "No Compression (Pure SQL)", but it creates only GZIP file.
Should I address it with my hosting provider?
What program can UNzip this file?
WinZip gives an error.
Thanks.![]()
