Adding Zone To Credit Card Payment Option

I would like to just have the credit card payment module available for customers in the U.S. I tried adding a zone name US, but when I enable it, the credit card fields disappear, even if the address is from the US. I searched the forums, but could not find an explanation of how I might set this up. If anyone has done this, could you please help? Thanks

When you created your "US" zone, did you click on the Details button and add "United States" + "All Zones" to it?

When I added a zone, I entered the following:
Country: United States
Zones: United States
Code: US

I edited zones, and put in the following:

Country: United States
Zones: All Zones
Code: US

That still did not work.

1. Create the Zone Definition.
Admin->Locations/Taxes->Zones Definitions
Call it something like "US Customers Only"

2. Inside that zone definitions, add the proper country/zone combinations.
Admin->Locations/Taxes->Zones Definitions, click on "US Customers Only" and click the "Details" button
In your case, you need "United States -- All Zones". If not there, click "Insert" and add it.

3. Edit your credit card module and link it to the zone:
Admin->Modules->Payment->CHOOSE YOUR MODULE->Edit
Find the "Payment Zone" pulldown menu, and choose "US Customers Only" from the list.

4. Now, when customers (whose address belongs to the "United States -- All Zones" combination) go to checkout, they will see the payment module you edited in step 3 above.
Other customers will see "sorry, we are not accepting payments from your region at this time", or they will see any "other" payment modules you may have active without zone restrictions connected with them.

You may need to do a similar process to create a "non-US" zone, and set a different payment module to use "that" zone, so that US customers don't see the other method, etc.

You would create the zone and add every country except US to it.
