    Default Attributes Error...

I've noticed that when viewing my site in Firefox the default attributes do not display.

For example, the product has 3 attributes (red, green and blue). Blue is marked as the default. In IE(6) it displays as the default. However it doesn't display in Firefox.

All attributes are displayed in radio buttons.

    Anyone else noticed this?

Have you an URL that we can peek at to a Product with this behavior?

My site isn't live yet. So no URL

Forgot to mention that I'm on 1.3.5 (inc. recent security patches).

Is there a way to force the user to select an attribute before adding an item to the cart? I could use this as a quick fix for firefox users I guess.

There is also a setting to make an extra Option Value such as:

    Pick something!!

And set to: Sort Order 0 ... Default YES ... Display Only YES ...

Now, the customer must make a valid choice ...

I guess this is an option. I might just switch from radio buttons to a drop down list box. Some of my products have many attributes and radio buttons take up more space.

Thanks for the advice. I remember posting a while back regarding setting the (cheapest) attribute as the default. I've got around 1200 products on my site and don't fancy editing them all so, is there a quick way of setting the default? Maybe an sql script?

The default using the display only is available as either a radiobutton or as a dropdown ...

This combo just ensures the customer always makes the choice and doesn't just click that add to cart without some thought first ...

As to a fast way to update the settings ... well if you know the combination of the
    options_id
    options_values_id

in the products_attributes table then you could run an update on each combo via the Tools ... Insert SQL Patch ...
