good luck dude..this is what we all want to know.

it seems that it isnt there at all, and when asked for it, the answer is never given.

just a thesis on the position of the company's position on contributions.

lord knows i tried to get the answer.

    Yes this is actually correct!

This line of code does NOT exist in this contribution, i have installed this module 3 times on a fresh system and did not see this problem, which seems to exists within the module. We also done a complete search & replace on all the files for this peice of code which returned no results.

So you ask where do you go from here?

Well, try turning off all the other modules to the side where the faq manager module is currently sitting and then we can see what the conflicting module is.

    What does this mean?

This means there is another module within zencart thats conflicting with the faq categories module, once we can figure this out i'll recode the module to stop that happening, until that happens nothing can be done.

BTW Tim, i asked in a previous message for you to tell me where the error was showing, i.e. what page, you never replied, so you never got an answer!

The reason i can provide this answer is because i was contacted by a user who respects the fact that this is a FREE unpaid for module that comes as is and is not supported by us, remember we never developed this god damn module we only amended it for our own needs then released it so don't start slandering our company or making us feel like all these problems MUST be fixed by us because they certainly do not and by posting the way you do i'm surpised you get any help.

Read our testimonials, speak to our clients, see what other mods we have helped create or fix, what exactly have you done except moan?

derek..major meltdown dude...i wasnt the first to ask where the code was.

either put up a contrib that works or expect some people to ask for help to make it work.

and stop whining when they do..its inevitable.

thankyou so lordy god you are the best thing ever to have contributed to zencart. i owe you all of my success.

many of us contribute in many ways and probbaly much more than you do and dont complain and whinge about it. so pull your head in mate..

you've known about this issue since last august and back then promised to fix it.

all peeps are asking is if its going to be fixed..not war and peace on your thoughts on teh world of open source.

are you going to fix it or not?..simple as that...if not, then we can close this threa and move on.

ion the meantime people are viewing this thread that could be your potential customers.

i thought it wouldve been a great opportunity to look real good..but instead youve proven yourself to be difficult, whiney, full of excuses and defensive...man id hat eto contract you for some coding..id be worried about technical aspects i didnt write into my contract...

    over to you..shine or whine.

oh, fwiw it was YOU who wrote where the error was..so why ask me?...see the first post on this page..its signed ...derek...

    good lord.

    Tim,

Firstly to ask for help thats completely fine, as i said in many messages on this post read the testimonials on our site (which are submitted by real clients), ask our customers, our support is second to none when its our products and services we are supporting. We DID NOT develop this mod we merely sorted the problems. We installed this mod three times on a fresh Zencart install and DID NOT see the problem.

Secondly i am defending our position as a company since it seemed you were preparing to slander it just because we couldn't help strait away with a problem.

We receive loads of support emails everyday regarding software that we developed and release under the GNU/GPL and granted although they are all configuration requests it does take time to get through them all (this is all unpaid work), but again we will always support or software and services when we develop them.

The only person thats whining in this thread Tim is you, i am merely trying to get through to you that no one that releases free software under the GNU/GPL l;icence is actually obliged to support it, take microsoft for instance with the IE brwser for a MAC, they don't support it anymore, so being a MAC user should i contact Bill Gates and go crazy and demand that they support it? I think not.

I never ever said that i/we are the best thing since sliced bread, i myself asked for some support the other day which was kindly supported by Ajeh, (thanks btw ;-)) and although my problem wasn't solved i'm not going to start jumping up and down about it or start submitting posts like these to get a point across.

Clearly you are not a developer and have never experienceed what we have when using free software.

I have been contacted by another user this morning and this issue has now been taken to the next level as described in the post above that actually relates to the problem, once i get feedback i'lll gladly help.

However, that being said, we are a very, very busy company which is why we have been unable to contribute lately although i will make this issue a priority, so i can stop wasting my own time writing posts like this.

I am on these forums as a user, not a company and am not trying to make our company look good in any way and quite frankly don't need to, so stop making references to our company please.

BTW, if you require custom coding you would need to be booked in to get it done, the next placement is now mid April and theres more than me in the company.

Anyway enough said, i won't reply to anymore of these posts, i feel i have managed to get the point across.

    Have a nice day

derek you are an absolute bozo mate.

telling us how busy you are and how you can clearly see that im not a developer- how the heck you can get that i wouldnt have a clue...but you seem to think that.

i merely got onboard with this as i saw others wanting help and you making promises that were never met.

more like me taking a position where i call a spade a spade more than slander- which it falls seriously short in meeting that criterion.

and me whining?...i sugges tthat you read through the posts and see what ive asked about, and your responses.

everytime anyone has asked about a fix for the issue you posted and promised to fix, youve gone off on this huge typing tirade..this then dovetailed into my response about contributions..which got another type-athon from you , and so forth.

if you are so busy, i have no idea how you can write these novels...surely the fix wouldve been faster?

it wouldve made you look good too. if you dont care to look good, and have plenty of clients, then ive news for you bro- you got the service game all wrong.

throw darts at my effigy when you go home but take every opportunity to advertise yourself i a good light. all this thread has done is make you look like a right tosser.

i have no commercil gain, so really i can write what i want..but you are in ''the business''....i certainly wouldnt be going at it with some anonymous user if i were in your shoes.

looks like perfect designing is not going to come through eh?...

shame too..imagine the name you'dve had for yourself and free advertising from peeps using the contrib?...you cant beat that.

    Tim,

I never said you never had a clue, thats something you seem to have taken from the last post goodness knows why since all i was trying to state there is that if you were a developer you would also get a bit pissed when the end user comes at you like you have.

I also don't have any commercial gain here and don't expect to, your way out of line here Tim and quite frankly refuse to converse with someone with a clear aggression problem, maybe you need to seek help.

If you look at all your posts you have not helped, all you've done is slander our company which as no play in this, and make me look bad when in actual fact i am helping, but again you don't see that bit eh?

ofcourse if this peice of software was developed by the company or myself then maybe i would contribute more.

And i mean to make remarks like he ones in your last post, well that just sums you up!

As i said, i don't need to look good because i am not on these forums as a company i am on here as a user just like you wanting to help others and give something back, which i am, so i don't know why you consistently bring the company into it.

You keep making references to the company, why? its not the company thats helping with this module, its me!!!!!

We as a company are very busy but again thats no one elses concern, the reason i mention that is because i hope it would allow people to understand why I haven't replied.

Please read the last post properly, you clearly can't be since you keep saying I am not helping when clearly i am.

Again, stop making references to the company since its not the company thats helping, its me myself in my own capacity as a Zencart user!

    Have a nice day

    Derek
