We have about a third of the stock which has to be ordered from a supplier, and therefore adds 2-3 days to an order.
The rest of the stuff is always in.
So, I set all items to 100, and all "non-stocked" items to 0.
I then changed the out of stock notice to say "ordered on request - please allow 2-5 days extra".
Except, I can't see how to add this note to search results and listings, because people don't want to wait until checkout to see this (as it is now).
