    error message setting attributes

I have read the wiki & searched the forum and can not find a solution to the following error:
    >>>Attribute Option and Option Value Do NOT Match - Attribute was not added - : TEXT <<<<<

I am attempting to set up for downloads.
I have an attribute name: download
    value: pattern

I chose the download and pattern [DOWNLOAD] and Insert. (so far so good)
I scrolled down clicked off the flags as per previous instructions found, and made sure the "Default Attribute to be Marked Selected" is set to yes.
I add the file name (which is different from the title of the product) and hit insert. This is where the error message shows up at the top of the screen.

    Thanks for any help.
    Muggs.

Make sure that the Option Type for the Option Name is set to Radiobutton or Dropdown ...

Then you need to add Option Value(s) to that Option Name ...

Once that is done, you can add the Attribute by selecting the:
    Option Name
    Option Value

Then entering the Download filename ...

It is best that Download filenames never contain spaces, special characters or extra periods in the filename ...

It is also recommended that the Download be Zipped ...

If you continue to have issues ... try a small, tiny download ... does it work?

What type of server are you on? unix or windows?

Is Redirect set to ON or OFF in the Attribute settings?

If on a windows server this must be OFF ...

If on an unix server, this should be ON ... unless your server is not configured correctly to work with the .htaccess file in the /pub directory ...

Idea or Suggestion Re: error message setting attributes

I followed the steps above and still the same error messge.

Finally in desperation I did a fresh install of zen-cart to a new folder and lo & behold the attributes process worked first time through.

I now will get to work re-configuring & re-entering the data. Hopefully it will be relatively clear sailing from here on in.

I do appreciate you trying to help me through this.

    Sue Wilkins
