    Default No Base Pricing

    How do I set up my store to have no base price, and rely soley on the options/attributes for pricing?

    I *think* I've tried looking this up in every possible manner, so please excuse me if I missed something.

    Basically, I have gotten to the point where I now have $0.00 shown as the base price, but I want nothing shown as the base price (because it looks sophomoric right now).

    What am I trying to accomplish?
    I have 1400 licensed products that are repetetive in nature, but all have options and attributes that are similar (ie 10MB 5" x7.5" 300 dpi image as one attribute and 20MB 6.5" x 10" 300 dpi image as another attribute). Until someone selects an attribute, there is no price...

    Thanks.

    when setting up the product did you set it as price by attribute? and in the attrubutes controller did you set prices for each attribute?

    Yes. The options and attributes portion is working fine, but I want to get rid of the $0.00 'price tag'.

    do you want to have any price showing, like starting at..... see my site go to any of the fabrics products info page. It is set up as price by attribute, when setting up the product I set it as price by attribute. Then set up the attributes with prices and everything worked great.

    If you don't want to have any "base price" or "starting at" price displayed then you could set this in your stylesheet to kill the display of the price til you figure out what the issue is.
    Code:
    h2#productPrices.productGeneral {display: none;}

    I'll take a look at the style sheet. I haven't been into that yet.

    Where you have $4.99 listed in the catalog top level, I would like no price shown. And on the particular product, I don't want starting at.

    Thanks for the tip on the style sheet, I'll look into it.

    Hmmm, this is an accidental kind of solution for those who read the previous thread entries...

    I was trying to make my adjustments in the general products categories, and had turned off the "starting at" in that category.

    I was told in another thread dealing with another issue of showing number in stock that since I was defining the product as having free shipping, that I need to modify settings in that product type. When I set the "starting at" to off in that product type the problem was solved.

    Hope you followed that...
