    Sorting out my categories sidebox

    Hi,

    Can anyone tell me how to remove the x's from the categories sidebox (renamed browse) on my website (www.handcrafteduk.com)?

    When viewing the page in Mozill everything looks ok but, when viewing the page in Internet Explorer it all looks a bit of a mess!! I'm using the bettercategories mod if that makes any difference?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Gary

    The "X"s that you see in IE represent missing images. As part of Better Categories there are images supplied that you must either upload and use or replace with transparent gifs.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply. Well, i tried this earlier by using paint to produce a transparent image (same colour as my background). I then saved it in place of the image file and it worked great apart from;

    'Furniture' and 'Instruments' looked ok (no X's only the transparent image) as there are products listed under these headings. However, with 'New Products' and 'All Products' the X's were still there. i guess this is because these two do not have any further links!!

    So, any ideas what i can do?

    I suspect that the image file you replaced was bc_cat_pointer_right.gif. However New Products and All Products use bc_cat_boxes.gif. You would need to replace all the images.

    Also a transparent gif doesn't have the same color as your background, it has no color at all and therefore allows the color of the background to show through.

    Thanks so much kuroi - It worked!!!

    Ok, now I've got just one more question (then I promise I'll go to bed!!! ). Looking at the page in Mozilla now, the spacing between the different categories is perfect.

    However, in Explorer they're all bunched together! Is there anything i can do to increase the spacing between the items within Explorer only? I would have thought that, through using the stylesheet, this would create an even bigger gap when viewing the page with Mozilla (which I don't want to happen!)

    Thanks,

    Gary
