Product drop down

I am still setting up my zencart and I would like to do something, which seems to me possible, but I don't seem to be able to figure out how to do it.

I have searched and read the postings until my eyes are bloodshot. I can't believe how many situations with products sizing/pricing there are, and not one I have read deals with my problem. Maybe I am mistaken and I don't recognize the answer to my question in the answers I read, or maybe there is no way to do what I would like. Either way, I can not find the answer to my question.

I have products, for example fragrances. I have, lets say, 64 oz in stock. I list different sizes for each fragrance, with a discount for each size. For instance, here is an example of my size listing with savings for sizes.

I have set up the quantity discounts, which works just fine. Basically if my customer wants to buy 16 oz, they can just put in 16 in the quanity box and voila, the correct price appears.

Qty Discounts
1 $6.70
2-3 $4.70
4-7 $3.70
8-15 $3.07
16+ $2.69

The problem is that I don't want my customer to see the breakdown like that, or to have to choose "how many they want" and add the number. I want it to be as simple as possible for my customers to understand, and also I prefer them to buy those particular amounts.

This is how I would like my customers to see the break downs.

1 oz $6.70
2 oz $9.40
4 oz $14.80
8 oz $24.56
16 oz $43.04

I am interested in creating a drop down list with these values on it and that the customer picks and I would like the amount tied to the drop down choices. So this is what I would like my drop down to do:

4 oz $14.80 = select product qty = 4
8 oz $24.56 = select product qty = 8
16 oz $43.04 = select product qty = 16

The reason I don't want to use the atributes is that they would not be tied to the original product amount. I see that there are a few different modules for atributes volumes, but the reality is, we are pouring the sizes that are ordered. We don't have x amount of fragrance in z sizes. We have 64 oz and we want the amount ordered to be deducted from the original volume.

So is it possible to create a drop down list that chooses volume ordered that is tied to the original product?

PS, I am working with version 1.3.02 because I need to be able to edit orders and I need the tax exempt module. I have them both working perfectly. p

I think what you need is to price your item by attribute. Just create a attribute drop-down box for your item with option value like 1oz, 2oz, 3oz 4oz..... and make sure your product is set to price by attribute. Now you can just associate a price amount to each option value.

Hi rapid, the link you included went to a trust logo module.

I have checked out all of the product/attributes modules and they all seem to deal with attributes. I am not looking to add attributes, even if they have an inventory, it doesn't solve my problem.

If you think that one of the attribute modules will solve the problem, maybe you can explain how. I am not able to see how this will work for what I am trying to have happen.
