Hide a product from the Category Sidebox

Hi,

ZenCart will update the Category Sidebox once you upload a product that you want to sell.

Is it possible to upload a product that you want to sell but not have it displayed in the Category Sidebox? - Something like a non listed product.

This is done so that I can control to whom I want to sell the product to. I will provide the URL of the product so that he could add it to their cart. Not everone get to see it or buy it unless they have the URL .

You can turn it off in admin>catalog>categories/products either as a category or as an individual product - just click the green square.

that doesnt work you cant access the product when you shut it off like that, there has to be a different way?? i also need a product turned off but i want it to still show up guess thats not possible hmm

Misunderstood the initial question.

The only way I can think of would be to put these "hidden" products in a category of their own, then edit the category display so that this specific category is not displayed. This will require changing the code. However, it may not be simple as the product would still show up in "list all products".

You could prevent a single product displaying by using a conditional statement to not display it, but that would involve editing a whole lot of files to cater for ALL the listing possibilities.
