Idea or Suggestion Flash button to query shopping cart DB

First off I just began using zencart from osCommerce and find it to be quite the nice upgrade from osC.

I have an e - commerce site I built in flash which used to link to pro-stores. The client is not satisfied with pro-stores and would like a custom shopping cart. I would like to use a stripped down version of zen-cart to solve this issue. I am very familiar with osCommerce so zen-cart doesn't seem too over my head.

How I am thinking this will work is the flash button will post variables to the shopping_cart.php which will then query the field TABLE_CUSTOMERS_BASKET_ATTRIBUTES in the database. Has anyone done something like this? I would hate to waste my clients design time hours coding all of this and then find out it's not going to work. Thanks in advance for your time and responces!

Is there a URL I could possibly use? I have this setup on my plesk server so without pointing your nameserver over there this wont work but this URL seems like the right one to add the product to cart

    zencart-test.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=2&action=add_product
Just gives me a cart's empty msg when I try this URL.

hi alex - is this the kind of result you were looking for?

The flash object in the main column for this category############llc.com | point of sale does what i think you're asking.

...except there are 3 different good ways you can exchange data between LAMP and flash. $_POSTing is 1.

what kind of application are you looking at? if your zen cart + flash application requires intense communication, you might want to look at amfphp.

aside: although it has its sticking points, i still love flash - even though they got bought out by adobe. this was like when aol bought time warner. aol needed something of value!
