Store owner receiving PayPal payments, but no orders.

I'm thinking I need to completely re-install the cart. There was a recent problem with new customers not being able to register. I changed to the default theme and that problem cleared up. I am still running the default theme and now the cart owner tells me he is getting PayPal payment notifications without receiving orders. Checking the admin section also shows no new orders.

I just did a test.
If I use the money order option, the payment goes through and the sale is added to the cart.
If I choose the PayPal option, the sale is completed, you are sent to PayPal. After payment is confirmed, you are sent back to the cart "success" page, but the order is not added to the database. I cannot find the order in my account or in the admin panel.

I just installed and ran the "PayPal Sessions Viewer" written by Dr. Byte. I have a question now. Is every transaction on that list a stuck PayPal sale? If it is, I'm in for alot of work......

This problem is also happening to us since Oct. 12. We did not change any code or settings. If anybody has any idea of what's happening please let us know.

Had similar problem, uninstalled and then reinstalled paypal module via zencart admin.
Also check you enter main default email for your paypal.com account
into zencart paypal module.

Thanks for that tip. For some reason, when I did the last update, it changed the default address of the PayPal account to the main address of the shopping cart administrator. Since that e-mail address is also on the site owner's PayPal account, it allowed the payment, but did not allow the cart communication to work properly.

Same here. Did no changes. It just suddenly went wrong. What's more strange in my shop is that after paying the order from the PayPal site, customers get to the ZenCart Checkout Success page yet they won't find it in their Order History. Knowing that, more problems began such as no confirmation emails, no order status changes, no IPN records.

My last successful PayPal transaction was on Monday, October 2, 2006.

If you upgraded your site, or anything like that, you will need to UNINSTALL< and reinstall the paypal modual. I would go ahead and do this anyway- since it wont hurt, and it could fix it.

also check to make sure that your IPN handler file is setup on both the admin and your paypal account profile. make sure that you still have ipn_main_handler.php located inside your root dir of the server

make sure that you have double checked your email address, CAPs matter i believe so make sure its EXACTLY the same.

the IPN system trys to send the payment data back to the cart for eather *3days or 3attempts* i cant remember which, however, after that time, the transaction is deleted. So if you check everything and its good, then you should contact paypal and ask them if they find any stuck transactions on your account. They should be able to tell you if it was delieverd sucessfully, or not. If it WAS- then you know it has to do with zencart, and the instructions i just gave should fix the problem. If it WASNT - youll need to try and contact the customer *should be able to match the customers email in your admin with the paypal email* and let them know- cancel/refund the order.

i had this issue when i moved to the newest zen version - had about 10 orders the first night through paypal that i didnt get an order for. i just had to uninstall/reinstall and it worked fine again....
