hello, i tested my contact us section.. filled out everything hit send... and it said message successfully sent... but its not sending it to the email i have listed under the email options for contact us... any clues to why it is not sending?

Could be a number of factors, including:
- email server not recognized or properly configured
- malformed email address
To determine email server settings, need to set the proper "email transport" method suitable for your server. Some experimentation may be required. May need to set the SMTP options too.

its all setup in email options... like if a new user signs up... they get the email with there account info etc... but contact us wont send email to store owner.

It could also be some other things.
Were you using as the input for the email address in the contact us page the same email address you use for your website? Were you using a fake email address based on your own domain?

Well I'm not a great fan of Free BSD - running PHP as a cgi executable always causes problems.
Sendmail should be working but you can still check it out in your admin panel under Tools --> Server Info
Also check the Zend Optimiser version. It should be 2.5.7 for that version of PHP, but hosts have been known to upgrade PHP without upgrading Zend Optimiser.
4.3.11 is a pretty old version of PHP anyway, but hopefully they have patched it.

ugh - have been able to send other email from zencart (installed newsletter subscribe) and also gave a try emailing via the admin tools.
Looks like email settings are good, but the Contact Us is not working.

have to have the info inputted into the settings as follows:
Name <email address>
not just
email address
if that makes sense.
