    Default 2 Stylesheets

    Hi,

When I first started working on my store I got to work on the CSS... but I have 2 stylesheets now. I would like to use just one and make my own template.

Is there away I can easly make my own template without loosing all my hard work of changing the 2 stylesheets?

    http://www.burningcardmagic.co.uk

    Many thanks

    Dan

From another post to you....I actually looked at your site and I would do a couple of things.

    1. Get the stylesheet.css from the template_default/css folder and copy to your PC then copy the stylesheet_new.css to your PC.

    2. Compare and merge your differences to the sheet from the default folder.

    3. Copy any and all files that you have edited, maintaining the structure so that you know where they go.

    4. Copy the template_info.php file to your PC and edit it to reflect a name for your custom template

    5. create a folder in the includes/templates/Custom_name where this is the name that you inserted in the info file let us call it "custom" for now.

    6. Create folders inside this new folder named common, css, & templates

    7. Copy/upload the merged css to the css folder just created and any other edited files that belong in any of these folders

    8. create "custom" folders anywhere else that you have an edited file and upload these edited files to the "custom" folder in these locations.

    9. in your admin > tools > template selection > edit > select custom and update

    10. In admin > tools > layout boxes controller > scroll down and reset.

You now have a custom named template and from what I saw there is only a bit that need correcting from the multi stylesheet setup.

I use FireFox+WebDevTools extention...When I viewed your site and deleted the stylesheet_original.css from being used I did not see that much that was lost???

I did not view this a "starting over" but more of adding back the few item that were lost.

Did you merge your stylesheet_new.css to the stylesheet.css???

I think so... what I should of done is merge all the 'differencies' from stylesheet.css to stylesheet_new.css? is that right?

I would do it the other way around...

Current stylesheet_new.css to stylesheet.css and use the latter for your template

right!! merged stylesheet_original.css with stylesheet.css and it looks almost normal... I have rest sideboxes and selected which ones I want to have, but the left and right boxes are far down the screen!.. and the center box is all aliged to the left rather than nice and neat in the center.

    Dan,

Do you see the differrence here??? It is the Style sheet "original" that you want to eliminate as it employs the old table based styling. Merge the two as outlined and then make corrections to get back what is missing.
