    Default Setting Up Product Images

I am trying to add product images to my website under Admin/Catalog/Categories and Products. I have tried to upload a .gif and also tried to put the .gif into a folder on the WebServer and then put the URL to point to the product, but for some reason my website shows the default 'Picture Not Available', and defaults to the the no_picture.gif, in the following directory: http://desertskyink.net/images/no_picture.gif. When you put the URL into a web browser, as a test, that is supposed to be pointing the the product picture (http://www.desertskyink.net/images/h...d/C6578AN.gif), the picture shows up in the web browser, but it still won't show up when I add the .gif through the Admin console. This seems to have broken in the upgrade to 1.3.5. Any ideas why this would not work? I've been pulling my hair out.

you seem to have misunderstood what the URL field actually does. If you look on your product page http://desertskyink.net/index.php?ma...&products_id=9

you will see a line at the bottom saying "For more information, please visit this product's webpage."

This is shown because you have added a url to the product, i.e. the link links to your image.

You are actually meant to use the URL field to provide a link back to the manufacturers description of the product, such as a link to HP

As for how to do the images properly there are lots of FAQ articles/forum threads discussing and explaining this... http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/search.php

I do know how to use this feature. I tried to upload the .gif to the following directory via the Admin console in the categories/products section -- /htdocs/images/hewlett_packard/. It still shows No Picture Available, and when I ftp to this directory, the image is not there. This worked on the 1.3.2 version of Zen, but when I upgraded it does not work. Any ideas?

Could you peek in phpMyAdmin at your products table and find products_id 9

What exactly is in the products_image field?

The permissions are all set to 777. If you go to http://www.desertskyink.net/images/h...ard/C6578A.gif, you can verify that the image is on the Web Server.

It shows Rows 4 Images (blank). There are no image references. I would imagine that since I currently only have 4 products, that would account for the 4 rows, but there are no image references in the table.

I have gone into the database via phpMyAdmin, and there is no image displayed for id=9. I tried to manually type in the image location, but that did not work. I typed in http://www.desertskyink.net/images/h...rd/C6656AN.jpg, and also tried a .gif, but it didn't work. I also put in the location of the images by typing in the path name htdocs/images/hewlett_packard/C6656AN.jpg and that didn't work either. Since this has never worked, what format to I use to point to an image, the web path or the folder path? Also, any ideas why the 'upload' feature does not work?

Now if you go to edit products_id 9 in the Zen Cart Admin ...

And select from the dropdown hewlett_packard ...

Then browse to readd the image from your computer ... does this work?
