Listing product sizes in a drop down box

Hi.
I am currently helping a mate build a store where he can sell tshirts.
He has it so that you can choose your quantity but the documentation to make it so you can choose the desired size via a drop down box is just to hard to understand. Does anyone know if there is a better form of documentation or if you know an easy way to do it.
