Cant Get Manufactures To Show

Hi, I've just setup zencart and have logged into admin and added several manufactures. In addition, I've gone into Column Boxes under admin and made sure the manufactures is turned on. The problem is that on the site I can't get it to show up. I've set it both for the right side and/or the left and it wont come up for either. Can anyone assist?

Do you have any products in the database yet? Which Manufacturer box are you talking about?

The only thing i've added are catagories.....but on the left side there are options for 'information' and 'more information' for instance. In the admin, Tools, layout box controller there is an option to enable 'manufacture' and 'manufactureinfo'. If I turn those on for the left side they do not show on the site at all. However, there is also 'reviews' and that works, I can turn it on and off and it will show. Why not 'manufactures'? I've gone into 'catalogue' and under 'manufactures' added some names with links. They do not show on the site. Do I need to add products first in order for manufactures to show up? Any suggestions appreciated.

Yes, you need some products associated with the manufacturers.
