I hope I'm not repeating something that someone else has already asked . . .
Sure the front of what The Patchwork Peddler does is webhosting and website design. But I don't think that everyone out there 'needs' their own site, not every business is at the point where they can invest in an online store.
So one of the things we do is we sell or 're-sell' products for people. We deal mainly with craftsmen. Maybe a woodcarver, leatherworker, etc. So here's the deal.
I need to be able to assign an email address or something to where when a product is sold that the actual manufacturer gets an email showing there was a confirmed order. That way they can go ahead and start the process of filling the order so when i contact them with the payment and order details they'll have the order ready already. This helps with the shipping process.
Which is another problem, I need to assign different shipping methods to different products. It's one thing to send a custom print to hang on your childs bedroom wall, it's an entirely different matter to send a hand carved cedar cane.
So I guess I need two things then. One would be just to send an email to the dropshipper themselves and to be able to assign different shipping methods and options based on product choice.
Anyone have any ideas?
