Who's online showing 6 but not in Admin

Just upgraded form 1.3.2 ->1.3.5 and applied all fixes.

My test site seems to be working fine . (XAMPP on WINXP PRO) but when I push to production Win2003/IIS6 etc..I have multiple errors. I have already posted one of them here...

this next error is related to Who's online. My storefront shows 6 but in admin there are zero. Have cleared browser cache etc and reloaded the pages and its still zero. I have seen teh Who's online count drop to 3 but nothing has changed in admin on this.

What difference between Apache/IIS could cause an issue like this? Also, is it possible that somethign else may be broken not relating to IIS/Apache...where do I begin?? HELP.

When you upgraded ... did you check that both the:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

Are both using the same database, username and password ... and that the paths are to the same directory?

The test site and production are physically two seperate systems. The config files in production ar eth efiles that I saved off before I ran the upgrade. When I copied ove rthe files from my test site (my desktop system) I replaced both config files with the ones I saved before I copied over them.


Also...I just ran a WINMERGE agains the production system and my desktop test environment that it working. The only difference files are the rwo configs.
Is there a way to run a compare on the two seperate DB's before I get any more orders?-Just a thought.

OK, I had forgotten one thing. I created a new DB catalog on the production server. Did a backup of the old DB AFTER I upgraded and then restored it to the new DB and pointerd the site to it. I tried switching back to the old DB and it seems to have corected one of my problems. The one in this thread about Who's online.

Mabe I'll try another restore at a later date now that I see 1.3.6 is released...man, I cant seem to stay current with all these updates...but I'd rather see many updates that actually fix things than to go for a long time between.

One thing I do with new releases is create a new database table with the silly name:
v135 or v136 etc.

Then I know who is who in the zoo ...

Yah but this is still a weird one. I created a brand new install on Apache (XAMPP) of 1.3.2 and then applied the DB and changes (template/modes/etc) of my production site and tested locally....all was well. I then upgraded this same set of files and DB to 1.3.5 and tested it. All checked out fine.
I then took this set of files and pushed to production (Win2003/IIS) and upgraded the site ....... then all the kings horses and all the kings men had to down rev it to 1.3.2 again. :)

I've done 3 upgrades now and I must say its getting easier to do each time. This time however was a real show stopper for me and Im still unclear as to why. Its weird that there was such a big difference between the two platforms.

Now that Im back at 1.3.2 I'll build another IIS box and test there first.
(I think its way past time to bone up on my Linux skills and get me a Linux/apache box going in produciton.)
