questions about attributes

I've done a search for a manual but no luck, I'm configuring the atrributes of my products but after reading the forum, still no good step by step example that can give me a good idea. Anyway here's my situation, very simple.

I'm using Zencart 1.3.5

I print business cards.

I would like this business card to have options of

then i would like them to choose the quantity 100, 250, 500, 750, 1000

then i would like them to chooose option printed sameday, printed in 2hrs
or printed in 3 day

Now what i don't understand is how to do it? and also what is the difference between option name and option value???

There is no manual as such...you're in it!

Option name=Quantity, Option Values=100,250, 500 etc
Option name=Service Type, Option Values=sameday, 24 hrs, 3 days

Alright I've setup the option name and value and attrib ctrller.

But now what's annoying is the "product price manager".

1. My stock is unlimited so i don't want it to display my stock., where to disable that?

2. what is Qty Min:, Qty Units:, Qty Max:, Qty Min/Unit Mix: (yes/no)

I played around with it, can't seem to find the pattern of what it does.

I got an attribute that's dependant on Price Factor, how do i add that?

I thought i was good at computer but this config is hard, anyway i've setup all the attribs and it's attrib dependent now with no base price, now the qty and type of service has no relationship whatsoever.

Basically mine is simple, i just need to know how to relate qty and type of service. (notice that qty and type of service has no + or - or % relationship)

Business card - qty 100 type of service is sameday $80
type of service is next day $110, etc

qty 250 type of service is sameday $143
type of service is next day $160, etc

From reading another thread on attributes, I don't think it's currently possible to relate the prices in the way that you want.

What you'll probably have to do for now is choose one of those and split it out into separate products, then use options for the other.

For instance, create three products: 2 hour, same day, and 3 day

Then create options for quantity, and price them as needed for each of the three products.

Or vice versa.

It *may* be possible to do what you're after using the price factor function, but I haven't used that one yet.

Took the plunge and bought the ebook just now. Have my head around things and by reading this hopefully it will clear some other things up and learn for myself. Who knows maybe I might be able to help someone else with things I pick up lol.
