I really don't know if this is normal operation or not.
Yes, this is normal operation at the present time. But note that Zen Cart also sends another order-confirmation email which "does" detail what the customer purchased. This comes from your store, and not from PayPal, and completes the otherwise so-called "missing" information.

    Thanks for that info,
I am NOT getting the eMail from ZenCart.

That is the seller is not getting the eMail from my ZenCart Store as I have a number of paypal accounts it allows me to act out both sides of the transaction.

    This is a peculiar combination.

The email is sent from Zen Cart at the same time that the order is added to Buyer-history in their My Account and the Admin Invoice/Packing-slip/Orders area.

Yet, you say that the My Account and Admin areas "do" contain all the order details ...

If this is correct, then this would sound more like an email problem whereby the customer's email is being rejected somewhere along the path of delivery. What happens if you edit the order in the admin, add some comments to it, and click the "Update" button, with the "notify customer" box checked? Does the customer receive the email?

Is the customer's email address in this case a "free email account" such as hotmail/yahoo/gmail? or is it a more traditional actual ISP account on a normal domain?

    Thanks for providing that detail,

Did as you said, no email.

Changed email from sendmail to php and "bingo" email sent, and email arrived.

    Thanks

Ron, can you provide exactly where you made the change?

Configuartion > eMail Settings > E-Mail Transport Method
I do not see a 'php' option.

I've often found "missing" zencart e-mails in the spam/bulk folders of my e-mail host (or client). The first reaction is to panic and blame bugs in our configurations / software. Could it be that this is not necessarily a problem with either Zencart or PayPal, but spam blockers? I'd check spam blockers and their relative storage folders, and if these are clean, nly then focus again on zencart / paypal configurations.

(Just a thought... I may be way off-beam here!)

    application error Re: PayPal Intergration

    HELP! Here is my situation.

I have an installation of zencart v1.3.0.2 and PayPal isn't working properly. When you checkout via paypal the payment is accepted but No invoice is created and No order number is assigned. Interestingly my test users last successful order number is displayed. This is what I have done to try and correct this problem:

    1) Upgraded to v1.3.5
    2) Remove and install PayPal again
    3) Turned on Debug mode for PayPal

The problem still persists! The PayPal debug showed this message after a test purchase:
IPN FATAL ERROR::Transaction did not validate

    Not sure what this means...?

Any and All help greatly appreciated.
