    Default PayPal Integration

Well anyone following my posts would see that I am steadily making my way to the the checkout.

I have PayPal intergrated with the exception that the invoice does not pick up the Products Name or Products Model, it just shows

    thepatchshop.com.au Purchase Item Number1 1 $8.50 AUD

I have no number1 in my products list

It would be good if I knew whether I needed to be working on Paypal or ZenCart to sort the issue

That is how the order shows up on the PayPal side.
The customer will receive an email confirmation from your shop once the order is released to your shop by PayPal. This order confirmation email will include the full details of the order.

If for some reason your server is not receiving notifications from PayPal about the completed order, and is therefore not releasing those orders, see this troubleshooting guide:

    Thanks for your prompt reply,
I have checked and rechecked the settings and instructions.

The money is flying around to all of the right places.

If I select COD or Cheque / Money Order as my payment method the Item Number and Item Name are transported to the documentation.

If I select Paypal all of the detail comes through correctly, EXcept the Item Number and Name. I get the confirmation email that a purchase has happened, but due to NO Item number or name, I have no idea what has been purchased,

    Iwill keep digging

Based on what you're describing, you likely ALSO do not have a real ORDER in your Zen Cart admin area for the purchases made with PayPal.
THIS indicates that PayPal's server is not successfully communicating back to your store to tell it that it has received payment.

PayPal sends its own email. This has NOTHING to do with your Zen Cart shop and whether PayPal was able to get your server to release the order.

    Thus, there are still problems.

What version of Zen Cart are you using?
Upgrade to 1.3.6 or 1.3.5 and turn on debug logging as described in the troubleshooting article I referenced earlier. What are the details that appear in the logs?

Unsure of the Zencart Version, somewhere between 1.3.6. and 1.3.5
I upgraded earlier today, Zencart still thinks it is 1.3.5 database thinks it is 1.3.6

So I will run the upgrade again.

I have turned on debug logging

I will then do some more PayPal Trans and see what happens.

I have real trans in zencart admin.

But I think I am missing some commms

I have also noticed with ZC v1.3.5 Linux, the Product Name / Model is not being transsferred -- to PayPal or Linkpoint in this case. I was led to believe by another Forum Member that it used to work but since the update to 1.3.5, it no longer does.

If the Money Order option is used, all information related to Product purchased is correctly provided.

Could it be that certain variables are not correctly being passed on by ZenCart?

Note: I also use other Billing modules in other PHP scripts they do not have this problem.

If your database reports as 1.3.6 and Zen Cart reports as 1.3.5, then you have not uploaded the updated PHP files after carefully merging your customizations into them.

Hello! I'm new, this is my first post. I'm having the same problem w/ Paypal Integration.
Paypal sends me an e-mail saying I've got money, they give an amount and where to ship. But it also says "Item/Product 1".
When I go to my paypal account it gives me a ZEN ID Number like; zenid=7c25ae5fcfb3dfbe5c0a09b85d461723. But I can not find that number referenced anywhere in my ZEN Control panel, or on Paypal.
How will I ever know what to send the customer?
BTW, I installed the module per instructions, set Debug Mode to Log & E-Mail, I went to my FTP Client, at /includes/modules/payment/paypal/logs folder and made certain the folder is marked read/write (chmod 777).
I also went to Paypal & removed the Taxes charge.
    What's left?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

Oops! I figured out the Paypal Integration! See previous post above.
What fixed it was changing the settings at /includes/modules/payment/paypal/logs folder and made certain the folder is marked read/write (chmod 777).
Oh, when I refreshed the page on my Admin Home I saw the new order in the "Processing" area.
    WOW, what a cool program!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Pleased you have it going now,
Although the Paypal electronic "Docket" and email going to the "buyer" does not have a proper description of their purchase and although the email to the seller advising there has been a sale does not actually say what has been sold, these details are available to the buyer in past purchases area. The seller can get the information from Admin area when you press "Invoice" or "Packing Slip".

I really don't know if this is normal operation or not.

I have changed includes/modules/payment/paypal.php a little to make the "docket and eMails the Buyer gets a little more comforting.
    zen_draw_hidden_field('item_name', STORE_NAME ) .
zen_draw_hidden_field('item_number', '...:Biker cloth patches from thepatchshop, Beerwah, Qld, Australia.') .
