    Default Virtual Services?

I was wondering if there is a way to setup services instead of products... things that require reaccouring billing, and none of our services require shipping, is there anyway to completly disable to shipping module? I can turn them all off but I then get messages when im logged in as a customer saying something like we currently don't ship to your area? Any help there would be great...

Also, once a user has created an account, is there anyway to assign a bill to them per say? Like if we have a client that has 4 hours of maintenance, and we need to bill them for that... is there anyway to do that without just creating a product for that charge and give them the direct link to it?

Hopefully I explained everything clearly enough, if not ill elaborate more, Thanks for any info!!

Default Re: Virtual Services? - Doesn't work.

I see many posts about marking products as virtual but nevertheless free shipping shows all over the place and I even turned of the shipping module from the modules -> orders total area. This is where I see shipping:
The shopping cart shows estimate shipping button!
The account history info shows freeshipping in the orders total!

What is the proper way to turn this off? should I just go into the template files and remove all the references to shipping where the page is laid out? If a product is virtual (not a combo) would it not make sense that no references to shipping shows up?

Thank you! I found this setting after searching through the code. There was still a peculiar appearance on the account_history_info of shipping method showing as "f". I removed from the code. Is there another way of removing this?
