Removing New Product Box on Main Page

No I am not an idiot. I saw all the posts saying to go to admin:configuration:index listing. I turned the show new products box to 0/off. But the main page is still the same

Any ideas?

There are several "new products" options at Admin->Config->Index Listing.
Are you sure you selected the right one ?

The very first entry is: "Show New Products on Main Page"
Further down, "Show New Products on Main Page - Category with SubCategories"
and later, other instances too.

What's the URL of the page you're seeing this on ? Is it a product listing? are there subcategories? or just the home page? If it's the home page, do you have things configured to display a specific category immediately on the home page?

I was seeing it on my main page https://shop.thebricktongroup.com/

I fixed it by setting:

Show New Products on Main Page - Category with SubCategories = 0
