Default Steps outlined to going "live" ?

Well, I think I'm ready to move my site up to be accessible thru the regular .com address, so I moved my file to the correct directory and it didn't work.
Is there a page that outlines ALL of the steps to take to take your site LIVE? I'm sure there are some edits I should have done first. I'm replacing the moved files from a backup. I really hope I haven't "broke" my site .

    help!

well, just an update. I replaced the testshop01 files and now when I go to
www.lilleypadgifts.com it works. I still don't think its working the "correct" way, but that I mean reading files from their proper place, so this is still what I need help with.
Maybe I posted this in the wrong place and if so, I'm sorry, but can somebody please take a look and tell me what I need to do to make sure everything is reading from the proper place?
    Thanks so much !
