Template/Modules for Photos

Hello,

I'm trying to set up a cart so that a customer can choose his/her picture on zencart and also the various types of picture size, accessories, etc.

I found some talks about Singapore and Gallery2. I think Gallery2 seems to be something that may work but I'm hoping there is a module out there already that is active and well... "perfect" :)

It may be missing something here, but pictures are products, products (can) have attributes ...why f=do you need an add-on?

Take a look at www.teddypix.co.uk and click on Gallery and drill down to a product for some ideas.

I've talked to a friend and yes he told me about these "attributes".

I've seen a lot of sites that have pictures for sale but those are say.... premade (not sure how to describe it).

The idea that I have is to take pictures of people where then the people have the option to go online and look at their pictures and order from there. So you can imagine the amount of work I'd have to put in for each customer hence I was looking for an addon that would simply my work for the cart.

In any case, the attributes idea will work for a small consumer base. If we get large... we'll have to find other ways :)

I've been doing some work upgrading the old version 1.2 contribution to connect Gallery2 and Zencart, and barring a couple of quirks, it seems to be usable with 1.3.5 and later this weekend 1.3.6. Essentially doing it for a photographer friend who would like to do exactly what you are describing above.

If you'd like to play with/evaluate that, I can put together a zip file for you to upload, which would probably force me to do the documentation I've been avoiding.

Happy to do so, I'll see what I can put together later today.

In the meantime you can have a look at

which is his test site for all this. The 'Portfolio' products are added to ZC in the normal way while the 'Galleries' are passed through automagically from Gallery2.

Selecting a particular photo/product and then selecting 'larger image' will invoke the Gallery2 embedding.

thank you very much. It works fine. First I had some trouble with long urls, but I could fix it. Now I have one more question. Do you think, that it is possible to link only those pictures to zencart, which are in the public folder? I have pictures for everybody, but also pictures for instance from a wedding, which should not displayed in zencart. It would be great when you can give me a hint or a code therefor.
