Strange Render in IE 7

I have been working on an update to my site and I am approaching the final phase so started trying testing it with IE and all is fine until I click on a link that takes me to a secure page. For some reason the style goes all over the place and I get an error message that says there are some non secure items on the page. Everything works fine in FF.

The setup is exactly the same as my site on zen 1.2.7 but I cannot understand what has gone wrong and was wondering if one of you good folks out there might be able to point me in the right direction.

I don't think it is that as I have the same site installed on my local server with no SSL and it does exactly the same thing.

Initially I thought it was related to IE hacks and have tried to isolate that as per Alan's suggestion but that didn't resolve it. Then I thought that wouldn't have made any difference as the standard non SSL page renders ok . I have also tried a fresh install and copying my templates accross but that did the same thing so I am know befuddled as to where to go next.

Can anyone suggest what else I may have done wrong?

I have found the problem.

I copied over the html_header.php that I had modified and that caused the problem. I have now replaced it and all seems fine.
