    Default Can't write configure.php

During installation, on "Database Setup" page I get the famous error:
    Error encountered while writing /includes/configure.php
When I check, the file has not been written to.
I've searched everywhere and cannot resolve this.

Win 2000 IIS (trying to install on 'localhost')
    PHP 4.4.2 (API = CGI)
    MySQL v.5 something

I've checked everything I can find related to file permissions and it all looks good. However, lots of the posts refer to a "Security Tab" in the Properties dialog. I have no such tab. Should there be one in Win2K, or is that just an XP thing?

Please help. I hear so much about how easy ZenCart is to install, and this seems way too hard. By the way, there really needs to be a step-by-step description of how to verify each aspect of file access in a 'localhost' environment. It's rather confusing.

Win2K ... when you right-click on the file, what options do you have ?
Further, if you right-click and choose Properties, what options are you left with, and what tabs across the top?

When I right-click on a .php file, the context menu shows:
    Open; Scan with AVG; Open in Notepad++; Open With ...;
Send To >>; Cut; Copy; Create Shortcut; Delete; Rename; Properties.
Clicking on Properties gives a dialog with only one tab: "General"
There are also check boxes for "Read-Only" "Hidden" and "Archive"

In looking around, it appears that the extra tabs in the properties box show up for NTFS volumes. I'm using FAT32. So what's stopping the write ?

I presume read only isnt ticked?

Other than that have you checked the permissions for these files in IIS?
Go to your folder / file and see what properties IIS has for it.

I dont know if that will help, as I am using NTFS..
