flat rate on specific products only

Hi. How do I enable flat rate only for specific products? I do not want to base FLAT rate on zones or locations, but on a couple of products only.

bump anyone? i noticed that i can do this per weight and set it to $1 per 1 unit, which will allow me to set the price per item. however, my store already has around 2000 products, and majority of them use UPS shipping without any problems. Problem is for a handful products that I won't be shipping with UPS but with a different shipping amount for each item. How do I do this?

What happens when the customer orders 3 products that use Flat and 2 products that do not?

yep you have a point....so any advice on how this should be done or approached? my client has different shipping methods per product and it's a bit complicated as some do not ship by UPS, and some UPS....

currently, i just used the per weight shipping together with UPS module...and just limited the max products that can be ordered for some of the items with complicated shipping....

I think it could be done... with a lot of work, but could be done never the less...

You would just have to build some new modules that match all the ordered products against some defined products and have it decide which shipping methods are available ...
