k, thanks. Its essentially the same thing that I addressed with my userCurrency contrib (see sig), but with languages instead. If its already slated for release, then I won't bother making a userLanguage contrib...

although you might want to check out my userCurrency contrib for ideas. In addition to storing the logged-in user's setting, it cross-references geographically sorted IP ranges to make a "best guess" for guests too... same thing could apply to languages.
