The other option is to use Radio Buttons ...
Add a Option Value to the Option Name, such as: Track
And call it: Select Favorite (or something of that nature)
Sort Order 0
Default YES
Display Only YES
Now the customer has to pick something that is NOT the: Select Favorite as that is marked Display Only and cannot be added to the Cart ...
This ensures that the "right" selection by the customer is made ...
