Default How to change product attribute for order placed?

I have customers that order the wrong size of clothing on my store. In the 1.2x version, I used phpMyAdmin and changed the attribute using easy, simple text.

(zen_orders_products_attributes => went blobby on version 1.3x and above)

Now that these are stored in blobs, what can I possibly do? I searched the forums, but did not see this anywhere. Thanks for any help you can give.

    Binary - do not edit (3 B)
shows above the field in phpMyAdmin and has a file upload control next to it. Weird.

I'll paypal someone $15 if you can answer this for me by Monday- I'd hate to delay this guy's order any more, but I need to be able to send the correct size to the warehouse. Thanks!

Has anyone ever found a fix? Are order product attributes impossible to change? Please advise.

Just signed up for a monthly donation to zen-cart from my little martial arts supply store. Please advise on the previous question (and/or the motion on the previous question).

If I am understanding you correctly, all you are missing is have on the Option Name for Size is to add 1 more Option Value:

What Size do you Wear? (or Pick one or Select from below)
    Sort Order 0
    Default YES
    Display Only YES

What this does is force the customer to make a "proper" choice and not an "accidental" choice ...

    Hi Ajeh,

Thanks for the response. I have customers that sometimes choose the wrong size, or we need to change the size due to availability in our warehouse. Is there a way to change a size once an order is placed? We used to use phpMyAdmin to edit the product attribute in the database, but now I see it is a blob field. Any advice?

    thanks,

    Jim

    Backup your database ...

You can try using TEXT vs BLOB and see how that works with your site ...

Yes- How can I change database structure so easily? I won't lose any existing information? Zen cart will just store the incoming order data - even though it is no longer a blob?

    Thanks!

    Jim
