Default Problems installing Zen Cart on your-site.com

I'm in the process of setting up the shopping cart but I'm noticing two things:
    1. The admin pages and the cart itself run extremely slow, really too slow to be managable.
    2. The buttons for "continue", etc. are barely or not at all readable.

Could both of these problems be because your-site.com uses MYSQl ver 5?

I have done some of the things suggested in forums, like making image sizes variable.

Who is your host and what is the URL?

    Host is www.your-site.com
    my url is www.chuckceraso.com
I haven't yet made the links within the site to the cart.
Would that help for you to check it out?

When you are looking at $5 a month hosting, more than likely you are on a server with a LOT of other websites. The URL of the shop to see the problem would be helpful.

I am seeing some corrupted images. That is usually caused by a bad upload when installing. Try reuploading all of the Zen Cart files using a different FTP program.

The image problem is fixed, but the cart and the admin page are still way slow. I've had a php cart on this site for a few years now and its always been quick. I'm thinking it may not be about traffic.

    Any other ideas?

The cost is a good bit more when you add php features, ect.
