Shipping Unavailable

I am using flat rate and a cloned flat rate for my shipping modules. They are both installed, however I do not have shipping zones set up for either one of them because I would like the flat rates to be used all over the world, whereas the list of shipping zone options that show up are only for the county zones I have defined in my zone definitions. I tried creating an "all" zone that included every country and every zone, but I'm still getting the error message in the first stage of my check out:

Not Available At This Time
Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time.
Please contact us for alternate arrangements

Also, in my admin->modules->shipping i have a yellow error message stating:
Shipping Configuration errors!
Warning: 0 weight is configured for Free Shipping and Free Shipping Module is not enabled


Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Afer making some adjustments I'm getting this message now:

Shipping Method:
Please select the preferred shipping method to use on this order.
Free Shipping
Free shipping for orders over $0.00

I do not have the free shipping modules activated. All I have is the flat rate and the standard flat rate (cloned from flat rate). Is there somewhere I might have enabled free shipping for orders over $0.00?

Alright, I figured it out!

in my order total module in the admin i had Shipping ot_shipping edited to all orders over 0 get free shipping with free shipping set true... i just set free shipping to false and presto im back!

It's back again!!!! When I have a downloadable product and a product that requires shipping in my cart I'm getting:

Not Available At This Time
Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time.
Please contact us for alternate arrangements

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this one?

Do your Products have weight?

Does 0 weight mean Free shipping?

If not, in Shipping/Packaging you need to turn that OFF ...

If 0 weight means Free Shipping, then it should be turned ON and you should install the Free Shipping freeshipper Shipping Module ...

What version are you running?

NOTE: make sure on Download Products that you are not marking them as:

Product is Virtual: YES

This should be:

Product is Virtual: NO

Downloads already know whether or not they should be using shipping or not and you are confusing the issue by having it count as a Download and as a Virtual Product ...

I'm running 1.3.5.

That was the problem. I have downloadable products (skip shipping method altogether) and cd's that need to be shipped in my cart. If i purchase dl's by themself everything works fine, if i purchase cd's by themselves everything works fine, but when i purchase cd's and dl's I get the ol':

during the shipping method process of my order. What I'd like to do is if there is a cd and dl purchase it goes to the cd (shipping methods section).

If you take the Product is Virtual OFF your Downloads then it will ...

Right on! That solved it!

I marked Virtual : NO

and

Always Free Shipping : No, normal shipping

and that gave me what i wanted... i think...

Thanks for the update ...

Downloads don't need help in knowing that they have no shipping ...

So on Download Products never mark them as Virtual and never mark them as Always Free Shipping ...

Downloads already know they are free shipping ...
