HELP! with customizing and inventory counting

Ok heres my problem first ive never used this before i hired a guy to build a shopping cart and he used this and then he left me not telling me anything and left it unfinished so i got F*cked. I need help the problem is everytime in the shopping cart you click on "next" to go to the next page or on the products it will send you browser to the bottom of the page so then you have to scroll up to view anything. any ideas how to fix?

I also need to be able to keep track of inventory a little bit better i have 1000 products that come in 3 different colors and 3 different sizes i dont know how to keep track of each size and color i have a general quanity left feature but thats the whole 1000 how can i keep track of all sizes and colors.

Keeping track of "stock by attributes" (i.e. large back, large red...etc) is supposed to be in the 1.4 release of the cart. As of now the cart will on track the stock on the product level not down to the attribute level.

As for your first question I would need to see it in action. Maybe a url?

There are some "stock by attributes" mods in the downloads section. I don't have a use for them at this time so I can't tell you much about them. Try searching the forum for "stock by attributes"

do you have any experience with zone and shipping rates maybe a lil advice on a fast way to set that up i saw your site i like it very much

I finally saw the problem manifest itself. None of my tools will let me do anything with the page. When viewing the source I realized that your running the cart in a iframe (frames! what are frames doing there?) with the small amount of content on the html pages why not run the whole thing with the cart. You need to redesign anyways so why not.

ouch! redesign hmmm yea really rather not its for a pain in the *** client i gotta figure this problem out. im not the one who designed it i just got stuck trying to finish the mess that was left for me hey how do i upgrade to the version of zencart that i need to keep track of attributes like color and sizes i downloaded the most recent version of zencart but im not sure how to intall it on the server.

The version of the cart that will let you track stock by attributes hasn't been released yet. Well regarding the pain in the *** client, I would suggest to them they do a redesign cause I wouldn't consider buying anything through this page, Neither would my wife who actually has a need for serger thread in her business. She looked at the page and said "hmmm looks like they don't care much what people think...wouldn't buy from them". Good luck.

Oh forgot about the update to current version. Open the zip file you downloaded and go to the docs folder there are instructions in there about installing and upgrading.

thanks again im trying to update the cart now just having trouble another question for you on shipping i have different rates for different states but when i do zone rates it only lets me do countries and not states how can i make zones for states and different prices
