Managing Files off different Server/Database

I'd like to run ZenCart off a premium server but cant afford to keep all the material on the same host. I am looking at nearly 20GB of MP3's that a client wishes to sell as digital downloads.

Would it be feasible to run ZenCart off one server so that it manages the files off another?

If both are hosted, almost imposible to do for one, and then you have the security issue as if I know the url of the download site I can obtain for free as ZC has lost control of the files.

Most hosts do not allow what might be considered hi-jacked copyrighted material like music to knowingly be hosted on their servers....FYI
