Use Category Meta Info to Test for Adult Category?

Hi All:

I am wondering if I can use category meta info to redirect the shopper to an age verification page, testing for the presence of the meta info. My shop has a section of adult items and I would like to redirect anyone who clicks on it, to a verification page, which only comes up once per session.

Any help, advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Sure can.

1. retrieve the category-meta-info for the category (or even the product) being viewed
2. check whether it contains the word "adult" (or whatever you choose)
3. check whether the there has been a verification during this session by checking a session variable
4. if okay, proceed ... if not, set a navigation snapshot and redirect to verification page
5. verification page will simply set the session variable upon confirmation, and restore the navigation snapshot to return to the page they came from

Could do this for categories or products

I must admit though, I am drawing a blank as to how I might go about getting the meta info for the category or product, and how I might do that re-direct. I've been through the forums, and the wiki and while the information I seek may be in those places I cannot seem to find it.

Again any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I am looking for something similiar, I have some products that I would like to restrict from <18 from purchasing, is there a simple way of accomplishing this?
