Virtual Attributes and Free shipping

Hi there

I'm running Zencart in order to sell both software-only and hardware+software bundles.

For example, we sell accelerated antivirus either as:
- software only (for one price)
- with an accelerator card (for a higher price)

Attributes-based pricing is fine. I can also use attributes-based weighting to set the weight to 0 for software-only, and then use weight-based shipping to give a 0 shipping cost. I am using Zencart 1.3, and it has a combined download/product combo, but we don't do downloads from within Zencart itself.

However, it would be easier for our users if the Free shipping module could be used for a product dependent on what attributes were selected.

Can this be done? Many thanks in anticipation.

Try this ...

Mark the product when adding/editing as:
Always Free Shipping:
Special, Product/Download Combo Requires a Shipping Address

On the Attribute with the download put price but no weight plus the download

On the Attribute that includes the download and accelerator card add weight plus download

Does this allow them to checkout properly?

What shipping modules do you have installed?
