Header Banner height issues!

Hi guys

I'm trying to replace the default zen-cart banner with my own, but it seems like the space for the image is too short hence cutting off the bottom of my image. What code should i alter to adjust this height to make it taller?

I have also deleted the section of the code in header.php for the sales text logo image, so now it displays HEADER_SALES_TEXT and HEADER_ALT_TEXT. how do I get rid of this? the reason I deleted it was because I wanted to get rid of the padding between my banner and the top nav bar, was there a better way I could hav done this?
