Dear ZenCart team,
Can I somehow, from the admin panel switch on/off control, so that my shop says "Site temporarily offline".

Yes, it's in Configuration>Website Maintenance>Down for Maintenance: ON/OFF
set it to "True" and your cart page will show a "Down for maintenance" page with an image that says "Down for Maintenance"
