Is there a way to change the auto-generated thumbnail size without an add-on? I know there are image add-ons in the downloads section, but are they the only way or is there some code I could change within the cart system itself? I've been looking, but I havent found a page that is obviously the page that manages the images. It's possible it's staring me right in the face, however......
Nevermind, I found it....... DOH!!!
I have to stop thinking everything is code related and start checking the admin page for this kind of stuff before I go digging through all the pages of code......

I have seen several posts and they all say the same. I have changed EVERY SINGLE image size in the Admin and none of them effect the main thumbnail. The page source says the images are 33% of the original, but I want them to BE the original size!!!
You said you figured it and you like so many others did not share WHAT you figured out! Please share your wisdom!!
